ABSTRACT As most of today's automatic transmissions adopt a elec- tro-hydraulic control system, the role of electronicallycontrolled solenoid valves occupies an important posi-tion. This paper presents a dynamic modelling techniqueof a proportional control solenoid valve(PCSV) for auto-matic transmissions in terms of the system identificationtheory, and analyzes the dynamic characteristics of thePCSV in frequency domain. Also we find that there aregood matches between the nonlinear dynamic simulationresults and the experimental data.
